"Apricots": New Piece in 9/8 Between Sweetness and Tartness Now Released
The Turkish Karsilama-inspired composition premieres in Germany. Watch the full video and download the free sheet music
Sweet or sour?
An afternoon, sunlight on the kitchen table, Stefano’s sentence landed like a spark: “Apricots can be sweet, apricots can be sour.” I tapped it out 2+2+2+3 and the room started to dance. That pulse grew into a piece that surprises with every step. I’ve just released the full video so you can feel it with me before the German premiere.
Here's "Apricots"
What makes this composition special is its rhythm: written in 9/8 with an unconventional 2+2+2+3 pattern, inspired by the Turkish folk dance Karsilama. Playing it feels like having a playful conversation where each beat surprises you. It swings between sweetness and tartness, just like the fruit itself. I am excited to share with you that I have just released the video of the full piece!
A Gift for You
And here's something special: you can find the sheet music of "Apricots" available for free on Stefano's website. I believe this music should be shared, played, and kept alive by as many musicians as possible!

Germany, here I come!
As I write this, my guitar case is open beside me, and I'm preparing for my German concerts. There's something beautiful about premiering a piece far from home, each audience brings its own energy, and I can't wait to see how "Apricots" blooms in those concert halls. I’m especially excited to see how audiences will react to this piece. So far, both the full video and the short I shared out there in the world of the internet have been received with such warmth, and I’m truly grateful for all the support and love!
A little thought
Preparing for concerts always reminds me why I do this. It's not about perfection. It's about connection. It's about sharing something real and alive, something that exists only in that specific moment.
So thank you for being part of this journey. Thank you for letting music be our common language.
With love, Roberta
